Does AirSWIFT have a free baggage allowance?

AirSWIFT is a Philippines-based boutique airline that offers domestic and non-domestic scheduled services. The airlines commit to offering their professionalism and excellence to deliver to their customers the highest standards of quality, with safety and security in the aviation services. AirSWIFT is the Philippines's only boutique commercial airline, and they have also gone through the strictest tests from safety-conscious multinational corporations. Passing these tests is what makes them one of the safest airlines in the Philippines. The airline has a generous baggage allowance for its customers, and in this article, we will briefly discuss AirSWIFT's baggage policy.

Free Baggage Allowance

AirSWIFT does offer a free baggage allowance for passengers, which is the amount of check-in baggage the airline allows the passengers to carry, as indicated on the passenger's ticket. Each fare class offers a different Free Baggage allowance from Value fare to premium fare at 10 kg. The free baggage allowance remains valid for the entire journey, and passengers will be charged with excess baggage when they exceed the allowed limit of baggage given by the airline. For health and safety reasons, AirSWIFT will reject the items and pieces of baggage that exceed the limitation of 30 kg. Airport mobility equipment and any equipment are not supposed to be beyond this weight. It is suggested to pack in separate baggage, but it should not exceed 30 kg.

Prepaid Baggage

The airline has a special offer through which AirSWIFT allows passengers to carry more than a free baggage allowance by paying some extra fees. These are sold to the passengers from the time of booking to four hours before the scheduled departure time of the flight. This prepaid baggage can be purchased at the call center of AirSWIFT or from their Ticket Sales office, through online booking, or by a travel agent. If the passengers have checked in before the four-hour cut-off, they are not eligible to get Prepaid Booking.

Cabin Baggage

The airline allows passengers to carry one piece of hand baggage for their convenience, comfort, and safety. Passengers can place this baggage under their seats or in the overhead bin, but it should be within the allowed weight and size limitations. The maximum weight allowed by the airline for carry-on baggage is 7kg, and the dimensions of the baggage must be within 13.5 x 9 x 18 inches. Passengers can carry the following items in their carry-on baggage.

  • Laptop Computer
  • Small Camera and Binoculars
  • Small baggage
  • Wrap or blanket
  • A reasonable amount of reading materials like magazines or books
  • Baby bag or infant carrying case or infant food
  • Crutches or Walking sticks.

Prohibited Items to carry

As with any other airline, some things are not allowed to be carried, such as liquids, gels, sharp objects, and more. Let's look at these items that should not be carried into the flight or found in your baggage. If these items are found in your baggage, the airport authority will take them.

  • Nail cutters, scissors, swiss knives, any kind of blade, or sharp and pointy objects.
  • Any kind of Umbrella.
  • Lights that contain "Butane" and matchstick are strictly prohibited to be carried in both carry-on and checked baggage.
  • Bicycle chains, jacks, and other similar items are prohibited.
  • Zippo lighters are allowed to be carried as long as they are drained out of their fluid.
  • Liquids, aerosols, and gels (LAGs) 100 ml or less are allowed to be carried in hand baggage. These LAGs must be inside their containers and secured in airtight plastic bags because changes in pressure can sometimes result in leakage.
  • All types of adhesive tape, masking tape, packing tape, scotch tape, duct tape, electrical tape, or rubber are not allowed to be carried in the flight.

For safety purposes, dangerous substances or objects capable of putting health, property, or safety at risk are strictly prohibited from being carried on both checked and carry-on baggage. These items can be a threat to you, other passengers, and the crew onboard, and to make it easier for passengers, these were the things that are strictly not allowed to be brought to the aircraft. If a passenger happens to carry them, then it is suggested to inform the security personnel and discard them or follow the instructions that will be provided to the passenger.
