What is the Gulf Air baggage policy?

  • Any item in the baggage that exceeds 158 cm and is less than 215 cm shall be considered 'size' baggage and must be charged as an extra piece of baggage. 
  • Boxes, suitcases, briefcases, cardboard boxes, prepaid electrical goods, and bags are acceptable for carriage as long as they do not exceed the allowed dimensions. 
  • The boxes, cardboard boxes, and suitcases can be wrapped in plastic wrap that is provided at the airport wrapping facilities. 
  • TVs with a maximum length of 50 inches that are in a prepacked condition may be allowed as checked-in luggage. TVs larger than 50 inches can be shipped as cargo.
  • All bags over 23 kg must carry a heavy tag clearly marking the actual weight. The maximum weight that is allowed for any single item of baggage must not exceed 32 kg. Any baggage that is heavier than 32 kg should be reached and its weight reduced before acceptance. The cabin baggage should be weighed, and a cabin baggage label should be attached.

How to add the extra baggage to Gulf Air?

Adding the extra baggage to your ticket is not that tough and can be done online by going to the 'mange my booking option'. After that, you have to fill in the required booking details on the page, and you will be carried to your booking summary page. There, you will find the option to add the extra baggage.
