How much Luggage are you allowed on Jetstar? 

Jetstar is an Australian low-cost Airline and this Airline provide flight service in various Routes and always makes sure that the Passengers are having a good Flight Experience. When it comes to have a great flight experience, then one of the most important things is Baggage, and it is very important to know the Baggage Rules before your Flight. In this article you will understand the necessary Rules, Criteria and Regulation of Jetstar Baggage. So, Jetstar categorized Baggage into two parts and the pointwise Explanation of the said Baggages is as follows: 

Carry On Baggage: Bookings that are made under Flex Bundles of Jetstar are allowed to carry a weight of 7 Kilo across 2 Items. 

• Another type is Business Max bundle, where you can carry 14 kilos across 2 items. 
• The Dimensions of the Carry on Baggage should not more than 56 Cm * 36 Cm * 23 Cm and here is another important thing that you should keep in your mind is that in case you have purchased a 14 kilo allowance then your main Item should not exceed 10 Kilo. 
• You can also carry one small Item, that you can store under the Seat, that you will find in front of you. 

Checked Baggage: Another Bag type is Checked Baggage, where you have to keep in mind that the Checked Baggage Weight is not more than 32 Kilos. Another important rules of checked Baggage are as follows: 

• In Starter Fares there is no checked baggage allowance included and here you need to purchase minimum 15 Kilo and Maximum 40 Kilo allowance. 
• If you have made booking on Jetstar in Starter plus bundle before 27 May 2024, then you can carry 10 Kilo as checked Baggage allowance and this applies only in Japan Jetstar Domestic Flights, but now the checked Baggage allowance in the said Bundle is 20 Kilo. 
• If you need more Luggage, then you can purchase it to 20 Kilo 
• Starter Max Bundle allows you for 30 Kilo baggage allowance, here you can also purchase additional Baggage up to 10 Kilo. 
• With Flex Bundle you can purchase Baggage from 15 Kilo up to 40 Kilo because there is no baggage allowance includes in this fare type. 
• 20 Kilo checked Baggage allowance is included and 20 Kilo you can purchase as additional Baggage and this is the allowance which you will get in Flex Plus Bundle.
• The Business Fare and Business Fare Max bundles allows you to carry the maximum Baggage, because here you are allowed to carry 30 kilos and when it comes to additional Baggage, then you can purchase it on a weight category of 10 kilos
• The allowance of 15 kilos is only available in Domestic Flights on Jetstar (JQ) and Jetstar Japan (GK) and the flights which are connecting from International Flight, then here is no availability of 15 Kilo Baggage.

•  There is a combined weight limit which you need to follow to get the smooth Check-in Process and when it comes to per Person Baggage allowance
• The Maximum weight of your Checked Baggage should not more than 32 Kilograms 
• When it comes to carry Baggage, then make sure not exceed the 10 Kilo Limit of per Passenger and the Dimensions should not more than 56 cm x 23 cm x 36 cm.
• If you have checked in Baggage of 35 or 40 Kilo (or more than 32 Kilo), then here you need to split it in 2 Baggages. 
• Another important Thing which you have to keep in mind, that the 32 Kilograms limit does not include the Electronic Wheelchairs and Scooters. 
• It is always good to add or purchase baggage at the time of Flight booking. 
• The Charges may apply to per Kilo basis and here you will be charged up to 15 kilos baggage per Passenger. 
• When you arrive more than your allowance, then in this scenario you will be charged for excess Baggage. 
• There are some restricted Items which you should avoid carrying, because these Items are totally prohibited, and these Prohibited Items are as follows: Fireworks, Party poppers, Fuel/ Petrol/ Oil based paint, Pepper Spray Mace, Insect sprays, Car/ Motorbike Batteries, Firelighters, Self balancing boards etc.
