Infants between eight days and two years old can travel on their parents' laps with infant fare.

When traveling with two infants aged less than one year, an accompanying adult aged around 16 should be with each infant to carry them on their lap. This is to ensure the babies' safety on board. 

Children between 2 and 11 years old traveling with an adult over 16 years old require a child fare and separate seats. 

Infants and children between 6 months to 36 months old, weighing up to 20 kg or 44 lb, may use car seats. 

Qatar allows infants to carry their checked-in baggage allowance and one baby stroller, collapsible carrycot, and car seat for free.

Infants' baggage allowance is based on the route they are traveling. If they have Flights to or from all destinations, they can carry a baggage allowance of around 10 kg, which is 22 lb. Flights to/from Africa or America can take one piece with a max weight of 23 kg or 50 lb.

Young Solo Traveler 

Qatar facilitates the Young Solo Traveler service if your kid travels alone. The solo Travelers service starts from the airport when you check in and continues until you reach your final destination. 

You can book the Young Solo Travelers service for a child aged 5 to 11 traveling alone without an adult aged 16. When you choose this service, a dedicated Qatar Airways agent will take care of your child on board and during transit.

On the destinations, the Qatar representative will hand over the child to the designated pick-up person. To enjoy the Young Solo Travelers service, the child should be between 5 and 15 years old, have a ticket number starting with 157, and only take a flight from Qatar. 

Companion services 

If your child needs a companion, you can also book for companion service around 72 hours before the departure. A Qatar representative will accompany your child throughout the trip. 

If you want to avail of the companion service, the child must be between 5 and 15 years old, have ticket number 157, and be booked with Qatar Airways only. An adult fare applies in this case, and you need to book a return ticket with the Qatar representative who will take care of your child.
